I have very very sensitive skin and all other 'sensitive skin' moisturizers make my skin break out. I am now at a loss. Im 28yrs old and this is getting old. Help! Can I apply unscented petroleum jelly to my face as a moisturizer followed by a light dusting of powder?
Yes i do it and it doesnt show the dry skin through the make up either!! Hope this helps!! xCan I apply unscented petroleum jelly to my face as a moisturizer followed by a light dusting of powder?
I'm sure you can i use petroleum jelly on my sons face when it is sore, it does however leave a shiney complection
i wouldn't put petroleum jelly on your face, it'll be all weird and shiny looking.
petrolium jelly is just oil! would you really want to put more oils on your face? all this would do is clog your pores and make you break out.
if you want something that will work for you, schedule an appointment with a dermatologist and get a prescription moisturizer.
no, i use a CVS brand of moisutizer comes in a small white bottle with a blue cap na dit works amazingly. and yes u can put make up over it
Try dove sensitive skin facial lotion. I have extremely extremely sensitive skin and this is the ONLY moisturizer which has worked for me so far. Just make sure it says ';for sensitive skin'.. it comes in a white bottle with a green cap.. u may have to search around a bit or go to a salon type store.
Actually, heres a link---%26gt;http://www.dove.us/your_face/moisturizer鈥?/a>
I have sensitive combination skin %26amp; I also have to be careful what I put on my face because it could trigger an acne break out , one of the few things I have used that doesn't cause me to react is Neutrogena's Norweigean Formula moisturiser for dry/sensitve skin and Simple moisturisers. I have actually found that products for sensitive skin are more likely to cause a reaction then the normal stuff.
I'd be afraid of using Vasaline on my face. You might get it in your hair and it's almost impossible to get out. I have a story for you...
One of my good friends growing up had a 5 year old sister when we were in 10th grade (we're now 21). Anyway, her little sister got lice from a kid in kindergarten. She gave it to the rest of the family. My friend used Vaseline in her hair to kill the lice (I have no idea why!). Well... she couldn't get it out of her hair. For the next 3 weeks her hair looked horribly disgusting. She would scrub it every morning and every evening. Her mom got all this stuff from the store to strip it out. None of it worked. She got it away from the roots and then just decided to cut her hair (after 3 weeks of fighting with it). I know hers was an excessive use of Vaseline, but still.... your face is right next to your hair. Just a thought....
Have you ever tried Dove daily moisturizer? It's the only one that hasn't made mine break out. Maybe you could try a different brand of face wash? One that doesn't dry out your skin in the first place.
What parts of your face are dry? I might be able to suggest other options then.
Oh, by the way, people with sensitive skin who switch to a different product need to give it time to work. Your face might break out for a week or so no matter what you do. This is because your skin has gotten used to your old routine. Clinique and ProActiv say that you need to give your skin 3 weeks to get used to new products.
